Mission Statement
The Dearborn County Retired Teachers Foundation, with the help of support from local individuals and businesses, awards one or more $500 Grants to teachers in Dearborn County, IN, in an effort to encourage good teaching which is so often lost because of the severe budget cuts to the schools and the emphasis on testing at the state and local levels
An Educator Grant is awarded to those teachers who apply and are selected in an anonymous process based on the number of students who will be impacted and the inventive learning which is outlined in the teacher’s application.
This project has been accepted with enthusiasm because it allows teachers the flexibility to think creatively beyond the textbook.
DCRTF has established an endowment with the Dearborn Community Foundation, is a member of the Indiana Association of Public School Foundations, and is a Gold Level organization of GuideStar.
